Babies require more nutrition, but must be introduced to new things slowly. Toddlers can be picky, so it’s important to find some easy staples that’ll keep your little one growing strong.

Apple Pie Recipe for Babies
Apple pie is a great treat to serve your baby, but the pies that come in the grocery store are too sweet and too chunky for baby to handle. Here is an apple pie recipe just for baby. This recipe is for babies who are 6 months or over.

Ingredients:
3 cooking apples
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon water or apple juice
Small pinch of ground cinnamon

Directions:
Attention: Only use the egg yolk for babies over 10 months old. For 6 to 10 months take out the egg yolk and use baby cereal to thicken the pie.
Peel and core the apples and then cut up into small pieces. Pour lemon juice and water into a small saucepan, add apples. Heat on medium for about 20 minutes or until the mixture is soft.
Puree the mixture to the consistency you want it. Add in egg yolk (or if infant is younger than 10 months, add cereal) and sugar. Beat until the mixture is smooth. If you are adding cereal, add in 1 tablespoon at a time until the mixture is the desired consistency. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes, enough time for the pie to set. Serve cooled.

Homemade Macaroni and Cheese
Macaroni and cheese is a classic kid favorite. Most children love the taste of a great macaroni and cheese recipe, especially if it's extra cheesy. Here is a recipe to try when making your next round of mac n cheese.

4 ounces of mozzarella cheese 1/2 pound (2 cups) uncooked elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups half and half or light cream

Dash of hot-pepper sauce

Directions: Shred cheese. Put butter in a large saucepan and heat on medium until melted. Add flour and stir until mixture is smooth and you no longer see the flour. Stir in half-and-half cream until mixture is smooth again. Cook until mixture comes to a boil and thickens, this should take about 4 minutes. Turn off heat and add shredded cheeses, salt, Worcestershire sauce and hot-pepper sauce (only a dash!) Stir in until cheeses are melted and set mixture off to the side. Add macaroni to boiling water and boil uncovered until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain macaroni and add to cheese sauce that is set aside. Stir well to completely cover the macaroni, serve immediately.
